Meet the Doctor
Dr. Joseph Pittman, completed his residency at the University of North Carolina, an orthodontic program known across the world for research and education. Dr. Pittman loves orthodontics and the benefits treatment can provide to his patients. He is originally from eastern North Carolina but moved at age14 to Ohio. He graduated from The Ohio State University with Honors in Mechanical Engineering. During his summers, he interned at Procter & Gamble, working on everything from supply chain management to oral care product development. After graduating he spent the summer volunteering in Raleigh, North Carolina and travelled to India for missions work. He returned to Ohio State for his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, receiving the prestigious Veler Scholarship. During dental school, he was president of his class and won multiple awards for research in orthodontics. After dental school he spent the summer in Cusco, Peru performing dental missions work at a health clinic. Dr. Pittman was excited to return to his childhood state for residency at University of North Carolina. During residency, he was president of his class and published research that analyzed the decision-making process for patients considering orthodontic treatment. Dr. Pittman is a board-certified orthodontist and is committed to providing exceptional orthodontic treatment and treating each patient like family. During his free time he serves at his local church and his hobbies include traveling, reading, sports, athletics and anything outdoors. He is married to Robin, an occupational therapist, and they have a daughter and son named Juna Rae and Dietrich. He and his family look forward to becoming more involved in the Fuquay-Varina and south Raleigh community.
