Pittman Family Orthodontics is excited to offer a convenient and cost-effective retainer subscription program to serve our patients! Retainers can be conveniently shipped to your home after the first set of retainers are fitted in our office. This is our recommendation for an easy, effective solution to keep your smile at its very best.

After completing orthodontic treatment, teeth tend to shift over time. That’s why we tell our patients that orthodontics is a lifetime commitment, and after treatment they will need to wear retainers nightly for life. Now through our Ever Smile membership, we are excited to offer a convenient and affordable way for patients to protect their investment by maintaining their beautiful smile and healthy bite for life.

For our retainer subscription program, we utilize high-tech custom clear retainers that are durable and comfortable. However, despite the durability of the material, they will wear down over time and lose the ability to keep teeth straight. They will also discolor and stain. Like replacing your toothbrush, it is important to replace your retainers.

Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable. Eligibility is based on good financial standing with PFO. The Ever Smile membership can be included in your financial contract or added during treatment. Membership can also be purchased with new retainers.

FAQs

Absolutely! At your first appointment we will scan your teeth and set up your 5 year membership. Remember the first set of retainers will be fitted in our office, and future retainers can be shipped to the address of your choice.

We recommend a complementary consultation for all new patients or existing patients who believe their teeth have shifted over time. Patients who completed comprehensive treatment with us are eligible for our Bring Back Your Smile program. Please call the office or book online to schedule an exam! Orthodontic treatment should be completed prior to retainers.

Yes, and we encourage all of our patients to enroll!
No. The Ever Smile membership is non-transferable and non-refundable. We encourage you to use your benefits throughout the 5-year membership.
No, the initial fee can’t be broken down into a payment play at this time.
As a perk of being a part or our insurance program, shipping and handling is 50% off!
When submitting a request for replacement retainers the form will ask for a current address. That way your retainers will always be mailed to the correct address. If your credit card changes please give our office a call.
Yes! Ever Smile is a great option for patients who have completed comprehensive orthodontic treatment, Phase 2 treatment, or would like to replace a retainer. At the end of your 5 year membership we’ll check in with you to renew.
Since life happens, we encourage patients to save previous retainers so they always have at least one back-up set of retainers. If you have back-up retainers available, use those until your next subscription arrives. If you do not, it is important to get replacement retainers as soon as possible to prevent shifting.
A new filling or crown may cause your current retainers to no longer fit. It is important to let your dentist know that you wear retainers; they may be able to apply the filling or crown to preserve the shape of the tooth so the retainer still fits. If the retainer no longer fits, you will need to come to our office for an updated scan. The rescan does not restart the subscription. The rescan and appointment costs are complimentary with your membership!
Possibly. Generally replacement retainers should work if you have not gone two or more weeks without a retainer. Any retainers made using previous scans are not guaranteed to fit. If you would like to schedule a rescan appointment or discuss the best approach, give our office a call.
Yes! Clear retainers fit over bonded retainers. Some other names for bonded retainers are ‘permanent retainers’ or ‘glued-in retainers’. We can provide guidance for you in this situation. Typically clear retainers will still be effective with the bonded retainer removed.
No. We offer different style retainers for patients finishing early orthodontic treatment since they still have baby teeth and their bite and teeth are continuing to change with growth and development. Mixed dentition changes quickly, and the membership is not ideal for these cases. If your child loses or breaks a retainer, please contact our office as soon as possible.
Yes! The Ever Smile fee can be included in your contract. Your 5 year membership will start at the end of treatment when you start wearing retainers.
Unfortunately, there is not a clear answer since there are multiple causes of jaw pain and people respond differently to retainers. Some patients experience relief with clear retainers. Some experience no change and, though rare, clear retainers can make symptoms worse. These patients often require a nightguard as well as other types of treatment for jaw pain.
