Pittman Family Orthodontics offers something most of them don't: a board-certified orthodontist who's also a mechanical engineer, in a locally owned single-doctor practice that designs and 3D-prints its own expanders in-house. If you want precision, transparency, and a doctor who actually remembers your kid's name — drive a little south. We're worth it.

At your first exam, we will take a digital scan, x-rays and photos and Dr. P will discuss treatment recommendations. You will receive a summary of the visit, as well as a financial quote with insurance verification!

Our presence in Apex continues to grow through word of mouth. Our Fuquay-Varina office is about 20 minutes south via Highway 55. Our patients come from Bella Casa, Haddon Hall, Scotts Mill, Walden Creek and Veridea. Their kids go to Salem Elementary, Apex Friendship, Olive Chapel, Apex High and Apex Friendship High.

Most appointment intervals are 8-12 weeks. Whether you're near downtown apex, in the Veridea growth corridor, or out toward Friendship - we'd love to meet you and your family!

What about my kids' first orthodontic visit?

At your first visit, we'll do a digital scan, take x-rays and photos, and Dr. P will sit down you and explain what he sees and what your options are. And great news - there is no charge for your initial consult! You'll leave with a written summary, a financial quote and your insurance information. You'll have a chance to get started if you're interested, but no pressure, no obligation and no fee.

My kid is nervous about braces. How do you handle that?

Honestly? We have a lot of fun. Dr. P makes spoof music videos. We have a Gear Rewards Program where kids earn 3D-printed gear coins for great brushing and on-time appointments and trade them in for real prizes. Kids who came in nervous usually leave the first visit excited.

Why should I come to you when there are closer orthodontists?

First, most Apex orthodontists are a multi-doctor or multi-location practice — meaning you may not see the same doctor every visit. Dr. Pittman sees every patient, every time. Second, his mechanical engineering background brings a different kind of precision to treatment planning. Apex parents tell us the consultation alone feels different — more 'here's exactly what's happening and why' and less sales pitch.

Do you take my insurance?

We are in-network and accept nearly all dental insurance plans. We'll verify your benefits before your free consultation so you know what's covered. If you don't have insurance, don't worry. We offer interest-free in-house financing and FSA/HSA eligible billing. 

How long does treatment take?

Simple cases: 6–12 months. Comprehensive treatment: usually 18–24 months. We give you a real number at your consult, not a marketing number. Engineering means honesty about timelines.
